Cycas Hospitality has announced its first project in Portugal, a luxury resort in Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage site near Lisbon. This marks the company’s entry into the Iberian Peninsula and strengthens its growing presence in Southern Europe. The new resort will be part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, a portfolio of unique, high-end hotels.
The Sintra resort will be Cycas Hospitality’s 56th property across 13 European countries. It is being developed through a partnership between Patron Capital, a European property investment firm, and Quest Capital, its operational partner. Cycas Hospitality will manage the hotel once it opens in summer 2026.
A Blend of History and Modern Design
The resort will feature 15 separate buildings, offering 260 rooms, suites, and villas. A standout feature is the sea-view wedding suite, designed to attract couples looking for a stunning venue. The property is being built on the site of a former holiday complex for employees of Companhia União Fabril (CUF), a historic Portuguese company. The new design will preserve elements of the original architecture by António Lino, a renowned Portuguese architect, blending historical charm with modern luxury.
Wellness and Natural Beauty
Located in Sintra’s picturesque landscape, where the sea meets forests and rolling hills, the resort will emphasize wellness and relaxation. Guests can enjoy sun terraces, landscaped gardens, and both indoor and outdoor pools, all designed to complement the natural surroundings. The interiors will combine contemporary style with classic elegance, creating a luxurious yet comfortable atmosphere.
Dining options will include a destination restaurant, private dining areas, and a morning terrace for outdoor breakfasts. The resort will also offer elegant spaces for weddings and other events, including scenic outdoor venues and luxurious suites.
Joining the Autograph Collection
The Sintra resort will become part of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection, which includes over 290 unique properties worldwide. Known for their individuality, Autograph Collection hotels are designed to reflect the vision of their creators, ensuring each property is one-of-a-kind.
This project also strengthens Cycas Hospitality’s collaboration with Marriott International. The company already manages several Autograph Collection properties, including the Autograph London Bankside and the Moxy Paris Clamart.
A Landmark Destination in Portugal

With its mix of historical preservation, modern design, and luxury amenities, the Sintra resort is set to become a top destination for both leisure travelers and event organizers in Portugal.
