Agoda has revealed that Thai couples are leading the way in domestic travel for this Valentine’s Day, outpacing couples from other Asian countries. Thai couples are followed by those from Japan and the Philippines, who ranked second and third, respectively.
Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year, offering the perfect chance for a weekend getaway. The most popular domestic destinations for Thai couples include Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Khao Yai (a new addition to the list), and Hua Hin. Last year, Bangkok, Pattaya, and Chiang Mai were the top three destinations, followed by Hua Hin and Phuket.
For international travel, Thai couples are most likely to visit Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, and Osaka, with Tokyo maintaining its top position.
Pierre Honne, Country Director for Thailand at Agoda, commented: “Although Valentine’s Day is not a public holiday, it is a special occasion for couples to celebrate. Whether enjoying a romantic dinner or taking a weekend trip, it’s a perfect time to travel. This year, with Valentine’s Day falling on a Friday, Agoda offers great deals on flights, accommodations, and travel activities to make the day even more memorable for couples.”
For those planning to travel this Valentine’s Day, Agoda offers access to over 5 million accommodations, more than 130,000 flight routes, and over 300,000 activities through its platform.
