Seoul’s Incheon International Airport has teamed up with Cirium, a global leader in aviation analytics, to advance its digital transformation efforts, optimize airport resources, and develop master planning modules for its overseas airport projects.
The partnership will utilize Cirium’s extensive database, which covers over 35 million flights worldwide, to power two cutting-edge aviation solutions developed by Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC): Simulator and MasterPlanner.
Simulator: This tool is designed to improve the allocation of airport facilities, such as check-in counters and security checkpoints, and enhance workforce management. It calculates passenger delays and queue times to ensure smoother operations.
MasterPlanner: This solution analyzes annual facility requirements and cost-benefit ratios, providing valuable insights for new airport construction or expansion projects.
By leveraging Cirium’s comprehensive aviation data, IIAC aims to strengthen its research into airport data technology and explore new commercialization opportunities.
The signing ceremony was attended by high-level officials, including Kim Beom-ho, Executive Vice President of IIAC, and Youngsuk Chi, Director of Corporate Affairs and Asia Strategy for RELX, Cirium’s parent company.
Cirium brings over 115 years of experience in the aviation industry, offering detailed datasets and insights on flight statuses, schedules, routes, fleets, and emissions. The company serves a wide range of clients, including airlines, airports, financial institutions, government agencies, manufacturers, and technology firms.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward for Incheon International Airport as it continues to innovate and expand its global footprint in the aviation sector.
