Asia’s Growing Role in Global Trade

Asia continues to solidify its position as a major trade hub, now ranking as the world’s second-most integrated trade region after the European Union. In 2022, 57% of Asia’s trade value came from within the region, underscoring its critical role in global commerce.

Trade dynamics between the United States and China have also evolved, with ASEAN emerging as a vital link between these economic powerhouses. While geopolitical developments in 2025 could impact global trade, the necessity of business travel for companies is expected to remain unchanged, ensuring continued demand for premium travel options.

This growth in business class travel not only reflects Asia’s economic vitality but also its increasing connectivity with key markets like the Americas and the UK. As corporate travel rebounds, Singapore and other Asian destinations are poised to play an even greater role in fostering global business relationships.
