Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of its flights to Malta, with services set to begin on 2 July 2025. The airline will operate four weekly flights to the Mediterranean destination, expanding its European network to nearly 50 cities.
Travellers from Australia, China, India, Japan, and the Philippines can now book their journeys to explore Malta’s stunning Mediterranean coastline. Passengers will have the opportunity to transit through Hamad International Airport in Doha, recently named the World’s Best Airport by Skytrax in 2024, before arriving at Malta International Airport. Malta offers a wealth of attractions, including the historic capital city of Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the picturesque sister islands of Gozo and Comino.
Malta-based travellers will also benefit from Qatar Airways’ extensive global network, which includes over 170 destinations worldwide. The airline currently operates 42 weekly flights to Australia alone. Additionally, Qatar Airways’ proposed partnership with Virgin Australia, pending regulatory approval, is expected to further enhance connectivity for passengers.
Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the relaunch, stating, “We are thrilled to resume flights to Malta, a vibrant addition to our growing European network. This move strengthens the strong economic ties between Qatar and Malta and underscores our commitment to connecting travellers to unique destinations.”
He added, “Malta offers an unforgettable mix of history, culture, and natural beauty. From its historic sites and sun-soaked beaches to its role as a filming location for popular movies and TV shows, Malta promises a memorable experience for all travellers.”
