Hong Kong Airlines has officially resumed its direct route to Vancouver, Canada, with the first flight taking off on Saturday, 18th January. The relaunch was celebrated with events at both Hong Kong International Airport and Vancouver International Airport.
To mark the occasion, senior executives from Hong Kong Airlines and representatives from the Airport Authority Hong Kong held a ceremony at the boarding gate. They interacted with passengers on the inaugural flight and handed out specially designed souvenirs.
Hong Kong Airlines Chairman Yan Bo expressed enthusiasm about the route’s return, stating, “We are thrilled to reintroduce the Vancouver service, providing travelers with more flight options. Vancouver was our first North American destination when it launched in June 2017, and it has remained a popular route. This resumption not only signifies our re-entry into the North American market but also highlights the success of our strategic shift from a regional to an international airline earlier this year. It strengthens our confidence in expanding our global network.”
The relaunch of the Vancouver route underscores Hong Kong Airlines’ commitment to broadening its international reach and meeting growing passenger demand.
