The coastal city of Da Nang in central Vietnam has earned a spot in the prestigious Time Out magazine’s list of the top eight travel destinations in Asia for 2025. The only Vietnamese city featured, Da Nang ranks third in the coveted list compiled by the UK-based travel publication.
Time Out highlighted Da Nang for its untouched natural beauty, diverse range of recreational activities, and exceptional culinary offerings. The city, nestled between the Son Tra Mountain and the East Sea, is renowned for its stunning beaches, with My Khe beach frequently listed among the most beautiful in the world.
Once celebrated for its laid-back ambiance, Da Nang is rapidly transforming, particularly in its dining and nightlife scene, which now competes with the offerings of Vietnam’s major cities like Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
For thrill-seekers, the magazine recommends renting a motorbike and taking the scenic Hai Van Pass route to the nearby ancient town of Hoi An, famous for its vibrant lantern-lit streets and well-preserved architecture.
This year’s list is led by Sumba, an Indonesian island known for its pristine beaches, with Siargao Island, a surfing hotspot in the Philippines, claiming second place.
Time Out’s recognition of Da Nang further solidifies its growing reputation as a must-visit destination for travelers seeking a blend of natural beauty and modern excitement.
