To cater to the increasing travel demand during the upcoming Lunar New Year, Vietnam Airlines is significantly expanding its fleet. The airline has recently received three new aircraft, enhancing its ability to provide over 100,000 additional seats during Vietnam’s most celebrated festival.
Fleet Expansion Details
New Aircraft: Vietnam Airlines received an Airbus A320neo on December 7, followed by a Boeing 787-10 on December 8. Another Airbus A320neo is expected by the end of the month.
Fleet Growth: These additions bring the airline’s total fleet to 103 aircraft for 2024, including a diverse mix of wide-body jets like the Boeing 787-9, Boeing 787-10, and Airbus A350.
Strategic Deployment
The Boeing 787-10 will be primarily used on domestic routes and those to Northeast Asia, providing comfortable travel options for passengers during the busy period.
The Airbus A320neo aircraft will focus exclusively on domestic flights, supporting high demand for travel within Vietnam.
Meeting Holiday Demand
Vietnam’s Lunar New Year (Tết) is the country’s largest festival, driving a significant surge in travel. The expansion ensures that Vietnam Airlines can accommodate the increased passenger load, maintaining its reputation for service quality while enhancing the travel experience with modern, more fuel-efficient aircraft.
