Plaza Premium Group Launches Dual Lounge Concept at Vancouver International Airport

by Alice

Plaza Premium Group (PPG), a global leader in airport hospitality, has unveiled its new flagship lounge at Vancouver International Airport (YVR), marking a significant milestone in the company’s North American expansion. This launch introduces the first-ever Plaza Premium First (PPF) lounge in the region, alongside a reimagined Plaza Premium Lounge (PPL), offering a dual-concept facility tailored to meet the diverse needs of luxury, business, and family travelers alike.

The new integrated concept, which combines PPL and PPF, is the third of its kind worldwide, following similar launches in Jakarta (2022) and Kuala Lumpur (2023). With additional locations in Hong Kong and Macau, Plaza Premium First now operates five exclusive lounges globally.

The Plaza Premium Lounge is designed to be inclusive, welcoming travelers from all airlines and travel classes. Key features include:

Interactive Live Cooking Stations: Rotating seasonal menus, including noodle bars, pasta stations, and a signature poutine station.

Family-Friendly Amenities: A dedicated family section, board games, and a “Mama’s Room” for nursing mothers.

Self-Service Bar: A variety of soft drinks, juices, locally sourced wines, beers, and spirits available at guests’ convenience.

Shower Facilities: Premium shower rooms available for CAD 25.

For those seeking a more elevated experience, Plaza Premium First offers refined luxury. Highlights of this premium offering, which officially opened on December 2, 2024, include:

A La Carte Dining: Gourmet menu options such as Crab Omelette and Vegan Thai Curry, complemented by a premium buffet.

Full-Service Bar: A curated selection of fine wines, top-shelf spirits, champagne, and handcrafted cocktails, including seasonal zero-waste creations.

Spa-Like Amenities: Complimentary showers and private relaxation areas for a tranquil pre-flight escape.

Both lounges are designed with wellness, convenience, and sustainability at the forefront, featuring quiet zones for relaxation, complimentary Wi-Fi, international charging ports, and Flight Information Displays (FIDS). Additionally, the lounges serve balanced travel-friendly menus with vegetarian and vegan options, as well as fresh daily-made pastries and desserts. Sustainability practices include 100% ADA compliance, a commitment to sustainable seafood via Ocean Wise, and support for local food providers.

Celebrating Local Culture

Incorporating Vancouver’s vibrant culture, the new lounge also reflects PPG’s Global Proudly Local initiative, which highlights local art, cuisine, and design. Guests can enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the nearby mountains, along with art curated by local artist Ken Prescott. The lounge’s design, inspired by British Columbia’s natural beauty, features a soothing color palette and intricate wallpapers that connect travelers to the region’s essence.

“We’re proud to offer a space that not only provides world-class service but also celebrates Vancouver’s unique cultural identity,” said Bélanger. “By incorporating local elements, we offer our guests a genuine taste of the region.”

Pricing and Access

Both PPF and PPL lounges are open to all travelers, with access starting at CAD $110 for PPF and CAD $69 for a 2-hour stay in PPL (tax excluded). The lounges can be booked online or accessed via walk-in, located between Gates D67 and D68 on Level 4 of YVR’s International Terminal. The lounges are open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. PST, with hours subject to flight schedules.

To celebrate the opening of Plaza Premium First, travelers can enjoy a 30% discount on lounge access for companions when booking online, available for a limited time starting December 2.

With its latest launch, Plaza Premium Group sets a new standard in airport hospitality at Vancouver International Airport, offering travelers a luxurious, locally inspired escape before their flights. Whether seeking premium service or a family-friendly environment, the new dual-lounge concept promises to redefine the airport experience for all.
