The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has made a significant return to the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which opened on November 5 in Shanghai and will continue for six days. This marks HKTB’s seventh consecutive year participating in the expo, where it is highlighting the vibrant and cosmopolitan allure of Hong Kong. The board is showcasing the city’s dynamic tourism experiences, celebrated cultural events, and its reputation as a key international gateway.
This year, HKTB’s efforts also center on promoting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) tourism brand, collaborating with other cities within the GBA. By positioning Hong Kong as a leader in this regional tourism initiative, HKTB aims to enhance cross-border travel experiences and strengthen ties between Hong Kong and its neighboring GBA cities. Through its presence at CIIE, HKTB invites international visitors to discover the unique blend of modernity and heritage that defines Hong Kong, while reinforcing the city’s role in the expanding GBA tourism landscape.
Mr. Cheng Ka-chuen, Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, stated, “The CIIE is an important platform for Hong Kong to showcase its unique metropolitan image and glamorous tourism appeal to Mainland markets and the global audience. Through our engaging pavilion, HKTB is seizing the opportunity presented by CIIE to connect with participants from around the world and promote Hong Kong’s latest tourism experiences. This initiative is crucial for solidifying Hong Kong’s status as a world-class premier tourism destination and a hub for GBA tourism, allowing us to maximize our advantage of being closely connected to the world and attract more visitors for multi-destination travel.”
