The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing and promotions arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT), is gearing up to host the 14th Regional Travel Fair (RTF) in Roxas City, Capiz, from October 18 to 20, 2024. The event aims to showcase the Western Visayas region, renowned for its rich cultural history, picturesque coastlines, and delectable cuisine.
This year’s RTF is set to be a key gathering for local tourism stakeholders and travel enthusiasts alike, spotlighting Capiz’s diverse tourist attractions and emerging destinations. TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles emphasized the significance of hosting the fair in Roxas City. “We are thrilled to provide our tourism stakeholders with a platform to exhibit the cultural richness and natural beauty of Capiz and its neighboring provinces. This event not only strengthens local tourism enterprises but also encourages Filipinos to discover the region’s hidden treasures, leading to unique and unforgettable travel experiences,” Nograles remarked.
The fair will kick off on October 18 with a Business-to-Business (B2B) session at the Circulo Convention Center, where provincial representatives and major industry players—such as airlines, hotels, and tour operators—will meet to form new partnerships and promote domestic tourism. Provinces like Capiz, Antique, Aklan, Iloilo, Negros Occidental, and Guimaras will be among the featured participants, each highlighting their distinct attractions. The day will culminate in a welcome dinner at Istorya Forest Garden, designed to facilitate networking among exhibitors, the media, and tourism officials.
Following the B2B session, the fair will shift to a public-facing Business-to-Consumer (B2C) event on October 19 and 20 at Robinsons Roxas. Visitors will have access to exclusive discounts on travel packages, airfare, accommodations, and local delicacies. In addition, cultural presentations, interactive games like Travel Bingo, and special showcases from DOT regional offices and event sponsors will add to the festivities. Local artisans will also display and sell authentic Capiznon crafts and specialties, offering attendees a chance to explore the region’s artistic heritage.
An additional highlight of the event will be the Capiztahan Food Festival Night on October 17, a culinary celebration hosted by the Province of Capiz. The festival will bring together tourism stakeholders to enjoy a taste of the region’s culinary delights.
To further enrich the experience, TPB has planned a post-event tour, featuring notable sites such as the historic Pan-ay Church, the Palina Greenbelt Ecopark, and the Roxas City Heritage District, giving participants a deeper appreciation of the region’s offerings.
The 14th Regional Travel Fair is a collaborative effort between TPB, DOT Western Visayas, the City of Roxas, and the Province of Capiz, with the support of partners such as 2GO, Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, and Robinsons Roxas.
As the Regional Travel Fair series for 2024 concludes, TPB continues its commitment to promoting domestic tourism and unveiling new travel experiences for Filipinos. Don’t miss this opportunity to explore Capiz and embark on your next adventure at the 14th RTF in Roxas City. Admission to the B2C sessions is free.
