The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) has launched an innovative AI-generated influencer named Emma, aimed at promoting Germany as a premier travel destination. Emma, the GNTB’s new digital brand ambassador, engages global audiences by providing virtual insights into authentic German travel experiences and personal interactions. This initiative marks a significant advancement in the GNTB’s digital strategy, blending technology with tourism marketing.

Petra Hedorfer, CEO of the GNTB, remarked, “With the launch of Emma as an AI influencer, we are advancing our digital strategy. AI applications serve as a vital tool for enhancing our brand communication and act as a bridge between potential travelers and memorable experiences in Germany. Emma will complement our existing influencer marketing, which generated 148 million social media impressions last year. While AI cannot replace personal experiences in Germany, it optimizes the traveler’s journey in a service-oriented manner.”

Developed in collaboration with Startup Creator, Emma is designed as a tech-savvy Berliner in her mid-30s, engaging followers on Instagram at @EmmaTravelsGermany. She not only promotes travel to Germany but also provides personalized travel advice through tailored itineraries based on individual preferences.

Powered by advanced deep learning algorithms, Emma can communicate in over 20 languages and will soon incorporate real-time data from the GNTB Knowledge Graph, enhancing the information available on germany.travel by year-end.
