Southwest Airlines announced an extension of its flight schedule through early summer 2025, introducing new destinations from its rapidly growing Nashville hub. The airline released its booking calendar on Wednesday, extending availability through June 4, 2025.
New Daily Flights from Nashville
Beginning April 8, 2025, Southwest will offer daily flights from Nashville International Airport (BNA) to Albuquerque, Jackson, and Tulsa. Additionally, the airline will provide up to six weekly flights to Providence and five weekly flights to Albany. Notably, this schedule marks the introduction of intra-Tennessee service with new daily flights connecting Nashville to Memphis.
Increased Presence in Nashville
According to a company statement, “The new flights will boost Southwest’s scheduled presence in Nashville to an all-time high of 174 Sunday departures in April and May 2025.”
Introducing Overnight Flights
This route expansion coincides with significant changes at Southwest, including the introduction of its first overnight flights starting next February. As part of this update, red-eye services will be offered on select routes, including flights from Honolulu to Las Vegas and Phoenix, and from Kona and Maui to Las Vegas and Phoenix, beginning April 8, 2025.
Future of Seating Policies Uncertain
While the airline is evolving its services, it has not yet announced a timeline for transitioning from its current open-seating policy to assigned seating.
Promotional Offers for Travelers
Travelers can currently take advantage of a promotion, saving up to 30 percent on fares with the code “Friends,” available until September 26 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Even within its lowest “Wanna Get Away” fare class, Southwest continues to offer benefits such as two free checked bags and the option to change or cancel flights for future travel credit.
Conclusion
With these updates, Southwest Airlines is positioning itself for continued growth and increased service in the Nashville market. As travelers look forward to new routes and promotional fares, the airline remains committed to providing reliable and flexible travel options.
