Virgin Red, a well-known British loyalty program offering flights, cruises, and hotels, has introduced its inaugural credit card designed specifically for U.S. travelers.
New Rewards Card Available
Applications are now open for the Virgin Red Rewards Card, which enables cardholders to earn 3x points on purchases made with Virgin’s travel brands, including Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Hotels, and Virgin Voyages. Everyday spending also earns rewards, with 2x points on dining, groceries, select streaming services, and EV charging, and 1x point on all other purchases.
Statement from Leadership
Andrea Burchett, Chief Loyalty Officer and Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Virgin’s travel brands, stating, “The Virgin Red Rewards Card will be the first of its kind in the industry to span flights, cruises, and hotels – it’s your passport to more flights across the Atlantic, more voyaging around Caribbean hotspots, and more Bellinis at The Pool Club.”
Annual Fee and Benefits
The card comes with a $99 annual fee, which can be offset by various benefits, including 5,000 anniversary points, a complimentary third-night stay at Virgin Hotels, and no foreign transaction fees for international travel. Additionally, cardholders can choose a reward after spending $15,000 and another after reaching $30,000 in annual spending.
Rewards Options
Available rewards for cardholders include a companion pass for Virgin Atlantic flights, cabin upgrades, free nights at Virgin Hotels, suite upgrades, up to a $300 bar tab with Virgin Voyages, and a benefits package that offers laundry service, daily coffee credits, and access to cocktail parties.
Underrated Rewards Potential
Virgin Red points are considered highly valuable, with a comprehensive list of rewards available. Travelers can redeem points for one-way flights to London starting at just 7,500 points, all-inclusive Virgin Voyages cruises for two from 95,000 points, or nights at Virgin Hotels properties from 25,000 points.
Conclusion
With the launch of the Virgin Red Rewards Card, U.S. travelers can now turn everyday spending into exciting travel opportunities, enjoying an array of benefits that enhance their travel experiences with Virgin’s brands.
