Summer travel planning is set to become more convenient with Delta Air Lines announcing its summer 2025 travel schedule, which features new or increased services to sought-after destinations, including Barcelona and Naples.
Largest Summer Schedule Yet
Delta will operate its “largest-ever” summer schedule, offering 700 weekly flights. Notably, the airline will introduce new service to Catania, Sicily, and expand existing routes to popular cities such as Barcelona, Dublin, Naples, and Rome.
Increased Capacity for Italy
With a significant number of passengers traveling from the United States to Italy, Delta plans to boost seat availability by 10 percent, adding more weekly flights to Milan, Naples, and Rome. This includes four weekly flights from Atlanta to Naples and four new weekly flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Rome starting in May 2025. Additionally, Delta will launch direct service from New York’s JFK Airport to Catania, marking the first-ever direct route by a U.S. airline to this destination.
Expanded European Services
Delta is also increasing its flights to various European locations, including three new weekly flights to Barcelona from Boston and additional services to Brussels from Atlanta. Furthermore, the airline will initiate four weekly flights from Detroit to Dublin, Ireland. Tickets for these summer flights will be available for purchase starting September 21, 2024.
Enhancements in Customer Experience
In a statement, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, Joe Esposito, highlighted recent enhancements, including the opening of a new Delta One Lounge at JFK, with more lounges planned at LAX, BOS, and SEA. The airline is also rolling out free international Wi-Fi and expanding premium seating options, ensuring passengers enjoy superior connectivity and comfort from departure to arrival.
Competition in Summer Travel
Delta’s announcement coincides with other airlines revealing their summer 2025 schedules. American Airlines has begun selling tickets for new routes to Rome and Madrid, while British Airways announced a revised schedule that includes new flights to London from Austin and Miami.
Conclusion
With these updates, Delta Air Lines aims to provide travelers with more options and enhanced experiences for their summer 2025 vacations.
