Airports can be a stressful environment, and the desire to unwind after check-in and boarding is common. However, excessive alcohol consumption before boarding can lead to disruptions on flights. According to a recent survey by Go.Compare, nearly 17 percent of passengers have experienced disturbances caused by intoxicated individuals during their flights. The survey highlights that some airlines are more frequently affected by these issues than others.

Airlines Most Affected by Drunken Disruptions

The survey results indicate that easyJet faces the highest level of drunken disruptions, with 29 percent of its passengers reporting such disturbances. Surprisingly, Ryanair, often associated with such issues, ranks second with 22 percent of passengers experiencing similar problems. Ryanair’s CEO, Michael O’Leary, has recently voiced concerns about increasing “air rage,” attributing it to factors such as heightened flight delays and extended airport waiting times.

O’Leary has highlighted a troubling rise in aggression towards flight attendants, including frequent assaults. In response, he advocates for stricter measures, including higher fines for disruptive passengers and a two-drink limit at airports to mitigate pre-flight intoxication.
