The Ikon Pass is gearing up for the upcoming ski season by adding Sierra at Tahoe to its roster of destinations. The resort, located near the California-Nevada border, will be part of the Ikon Pass network for the winter 2024/2025 season. Situated just 12 miles from South Lake Tahoe, Sierra at Tahoe will become the sixth California mountain included in the pass.
Expansion of California Coverage
Joining the ranks of Palisades Tahoe, Mammoth Mountain, June Mountain, Big Bear Mountain Resort, and Snow Valley, Sierra at Tahoe enhances Ikon Pass’s coverage in California. Erik Forsell, Chief Marketing Officer at Alterra Mountain Company, expressed enthusiasm about the new addition: “We are excited to expand Ikon Pass access in California by offering even more in the Tahoe area. Sierra-at-Tahoe is an ideal fit for the Ikon Pass community with its big snow and welcoming vibe. Now, Ikon Pass holders have access to both sides of Lake Tahoe with Sierra-at-Tahoe and Palisades Tahoe.”
Mountain Features and Access
Sierra at Tahoe boasts 2,000 acres of skiing terrain with a vertical rise exceeding 2,200 feet. The resort offers 48 trails, with 75 percent of the terrain suitable for beginners and intermediates. Advanced skiers can explore the Huckleberry Canyon backcountry through five different access gates. Sierra at Tahoe averages over 400 inches of snowfall annually.
Ikon Pass holders will enjoy seven days of skiing at Sierra at Tahoe with no blackout dates. In contrast, Ikon Base Pass holders will have access to five days with select blackout dates. Additionally, Sierra at Tahoe will be included in the Ikon Session Pass options.
