Europe’s railway renaissance continues with the introduction of a new, expansive sleeper train service set to debut early next year. European Sleeper, renowned for its innovative night train routes, has announced a seasonal sleeper train linking Brussels and Venice. The inaugural journey is scheduled to depart on February 5, 2025.
Connecting Major Cities and Winter Destinations
This new service will provide a seamless connection between several major cities, including Utrecht, Cologne, Munich, Innsbruck, and Verona, before reaching Venice. Designed to offer a sustainable and convenient travel option, the train aims to cater to travelers heading to urban centers and winter sports destinations alike.
Comfort and Convenience on Board
Passengers can look forward to a comfortable journey featuring a restaurant car, where they can relax and enjoy meals as the train traverses through Germany, Austria, and the scenic Alps. Chris Engelsmen, co-founder of European Sleeper, highlighted the service’s appeal: “Passengers will be able to board our train from Belgium and the Netherlands, and relax in the comfort of the restaurant car, while the train transports them through Germany and Austria, and across the Alps, ending in the historic cities of Verona and Venice the following day.”
Schedule and Timing
For those traveling to Venice, the train will depart Brussels at 5 p.m., arriving in Venice the following day at 2 p.m. Conversely, trains leaving Venice will depart at 3 p.m., reaching Brussels by 11 a.m. These services are set to operate twice weekly through the end of March 2025, coinciding with the Venice Carnival, which will take place from February 14 to March 4.
