London Mayor Sadiq Khan has unveiled an ambitious plan to significantly upgrade green spaces, cycleways, and high streets throughout the capital. This initiative is part of the Civic Partnership Programme, which aims to enhance the openness, connectivity, and inclusivity of public spaces across the city.

Funding Allocated for Key Projects

The programme has allocated substantial funds to various projects in Neasden, Ilford, Hoxton, Lewisham, and Croydon. Over the next three years, these projects are projected to deliver up to 28,000 square meters of newly created or improved public spaces—almost four times the size of Wembley Stadium’s football pitch. Additionally, the plan includes the planting of 220 new trees.
