American Express is set to enhance traveler experiences with the introduction of its signature Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) next year. This new lounge, spanning nearly 16,000 square feet, will be located within the new Concourse B, a part of the airport’s comprehensive redevelopment program. The Salt Lake City Centurion Lounge will be the first of its kind in the city.
Significance for American Express and Local Community
Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Travel, highlighted the importance of this new addition: “American Express has strong roots in the Salt Lake City community. It’s home to many of our colleagues and Card Members and a popular vacation destination for US and global Card Members.” She emphasized that the lounge will offer eligible Card Members a taste of Salt Lake City’s unique charm, alongside premium amenities catering to all types of travelers.
Amenities and Features of the New Lounge
The Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City will offer an array of luxurious amenities. Guests can enjoy a full-service bar and coffee bar, featuring rotating seasonal specialty drinks from local roasters. The lounge will also provide extensive seating options, including armchairs, dining banquettes, and a dedicated wellness room. A standout feature will be the year-round outdoor terrace, offering stunning views of the Wasatch Mountains.
Additional amenities will include a shower suite, a dedicated family restroom with a private nursing area, and private phone or meeting rooms, among others.
Current Lounge Options at Salt Lake City
At present, Salt Lake City International Airport offers limited lounge options, including a Delta Air Lines Delta Sky Club and Minute Suites. The addition of the Centurion Lounge will significantly enhance the airport’s offerings.
Recent Openings and Access to Centurion Lounges
American Express has recently expanded its lounge network with new locations at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). With 30 Centurion Lounges now operational worldwide, travelers can access these exclusive spaces through several American Express cards, including the Platinum Card, Business Platinum Card, Corporate Platinum Card, and the prestigious Centurion card.
