Icelandic low-cost airline Play has announced a summer flash sale with flights to Europe starting at under $100, just in time for the Fourth of July.
To take advantage of the sale, travelers must book by midnight ET on July 8. Destinations include Iceland, Dublin, Berlin, Paris, and London. Bookings can be made on Play’s official website.
“European travel is hot this summer, and many prices have risen,” said Play CEO Einar Örn Ólafsson. “PLAY always offers affordable fares, and this is our lowest deal yet to bring travel to Iceland and Europe within reach. These ‘cooled off’ prices will enable travelers to take advantage of shoulder season, with cooler temperatures and iconic destinations with fewer crowds.”
Flights to Iceland start at $79, and flights to Dublin, Berlin, Paris, and London start at $99.
The sale is valid for departures from Play’s U.S. gateway airports, including Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), New York Stewart International Airport (SWF), and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).
Travel dates to Iceland are available from Sept. 2 through Dec. 15. For Dublin, Berlin, Paris, and London, travel dates range from Sept. 5 to 23, Sept. 25 to Nov. 9, Nov. 11 to 30, and Dec. 2 to 15.
Play, which began operating flights in Europe in 2021 and launched its first U.S. flight the following year, follows a hub-and-spoke model with all flights connecting through Reykjavik before continuing to other European destinations.
The airline serves over two dozen European cities and operates a fleet of Airbus A320 and A321neo aircraft. As an ultra-low-cost carrier, Play charges for additional services such as checked bags and in-flight food and beverages.
