Marriott Bonvoy and Starbucks have joined forces to streamline points accumulation and redemption across their platforms.
Effective Tuesday, the collaboration enables members of Marriott Bonvoy and Starbucks Rewards in the United States to synchronize their accounts for enhanced benefits. Customers can link their accounts online to participate.
David Flueck, global head of loyalty, cards, and enterprise partnerships at Marriott International, commented, “Marriott Bonvoy’s partnership with Starbucks enhances the experience for our members who enjoy coffee both at home and while traveling.” He added that members can now earn more points and Stars, with upcoming exclusive coffee- and travel-themed experiences under the Marriott Bonvoy Moments program.
Under the partnership, travelers linking their accounts can earn double Stars at participating Starbucks locations on days they stay at Marriott Bonvoy hotels. Additionally, they can earn 100 Marriott Bonvoy points by completing three qualifying transactions at Starbucks during Marriott Bonvoy Week, slated for July 8-14.
To celebrate the launch, a sweepstakes running until July 7 offers prizes including trips to Starbucks Reserve Roasteries in Seattle, Milan, and Tokyo, complete with accommodations and flights.
Marriott has previously partnered with Uber to offer bonus points for linking loyalty accounts, while Starbucks has a similar arrangement with Delta Air Lines for earning miles through coffee purchases.
