Amtrak is offering significant discounts on East Coast travel this summer, with tickets starting at $15. The sale includes at least 25 percent off Flex fares for travel between June 28 and September 2.
The promotion covers Northeast Regional Coach and Acela Business Class tickets for select routes between Boston and Washington, D.C., Amtrak announced. Tickets must be purchased by June 20 to take advantage of the discounted rates.
Notably, there are no blackout dates, allowing travelers to book discounted trips over popular holiday weekends such as July Fourth and Labor Day.
“Amtrak customers not only save on travel but also enjoy a convenient and comfortable trip that minimizes their carbon footprint, whether visiting friends and family, heading to the beach, or traveling for work,” the company stated.
Travelers can find tickets between Boston and Providence for as low as $15 each way. Routes between Boston and New York City or Washington, D.C., and New York City start at $42 each way. Acela Business Class tickets are available starting at $63 between Philadelphia and New York City, and $75 between Boston and New York City.
Acela Business Class passengers can also enjoy a newly revamped café menu featuring options such as overnight oats, pastries from local bakeries, and charcuterie plates.
Additionally, the sale can be combined with other everyday discounts, including half-off fares for children, according to Amtrak.
Expanding its East Coast offerings, Amtrak is also bringing back and extending its seasonal Berkshire Flyer service between New York City and the Berkshires.
This promotion follows Amtrak’s fare structure change last year, which introduced “value” and “flex” fare options, replacing the previous “saver,” “value,” and “flexible” fares.
