Mumbai: A 31-year-old Nepalese woman was arrested at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday for attempting to travel to Hungary with a fake passport.
Airport officials became suspicious during document checks and, upon thorough inspection, discovered that her passport was forged. Unable to provide a satisfactory explanation, the woman was taken to the Sahar police station for further investigation.
Authorities found that she had obtained the fake passport in Kolkata using fraudulent documents. She has been arrested and charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including cheating and forgery, as well as provisions of the Passports Act.
