JetBlue is set to revolutionize travel to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean with a substantial expansion in the region, making journeys more accessible and comfortable.
Commencing in October, JetBlue will inaugurate flights to and from San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) and six new destinations, including Providence, Rhode Island, Westchester, New York, and Cancun. This expansion brings JetBlue’s total destinations from Puerto Rico to 18.
Marty St. George, JetBlue’s president, expressed excitement about deepening the airline’s roots in Puerto Rico, emphasizing their commitment to the vibrant community. The expansion includes flights to and from San Juan from Providence, RI, and Westchester County, NY, starting October 27; Santiago, Dominican Republic, starting October 28; Medellín, Colombia, starting October 29; Cancun, Mexico, starting October 28; and St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, starting December 12.
JetBlue will introduce its luxurious Mint cabin for the first time on flights between San Juan and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in July. The Mint experience offers lie-flat seats, gourmet menus from esteemed New York City restaurants, and premium bedding from Tuft & Needle.
To celebrate the expansion, JetBlue is offering enticing one-way fares starting at just $29 from San Juan to St. Croix, $79 to Providence, $89 to Santiago or Westchester, and $99 to Medellín or Cancun. Mint fares from New York begin at just $399 one-way. Bookings must be made by May 10, with travel and blackout dates varying by destination.
Beyond Puerto Rico, JetBlue will augment its presence in the Caribbean with new flights from New York to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Bonaire in the fall, alongside resuming daily service between San Juan and St. Croix in December. Miles Mercera, CEO at Tourism Corporation Bonaire, expressed excitement about the increased connectivity from a key US hub, enabling travelers to explore Bonaire’s offerings more conveniently.
