Frontier Airlines is setting the stage for Caribbean exploration with the introduction of several new routes from Puerto Rico, offering travelers affordable options to jet around the region. The low-cost carrier is marking this expansion with enticing fares starting at less than $60.
The latest additions include nonstop service between San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport and both Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic and Barbados. Commencing on June 14 and July 3 respectively, these routes open up exciting avenues for travelers seeking Caribbean adventures.
In celebration of these new routes, Frontier Airlines is rolling out special fares starting at just $59. However, eager travelers must act swiftly as bookings must be made by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 29. These discounted fares are applicable for travel on select days from June 14 through October 31, with blackout dates applying to certain periods, including July 1, July 4 to 8, July 11 to 15, July 18 to 22, July 25 to 29, September 3, and October 11 to 14.
Expressing enthusiasm about the expansion, Josh Flyr, Vice President of Network and Operations Design at Frontier Airlines, remarked, “As we anticipate an exciting and potentially record-breaking summer travel season, we’re thrilled to further expand our route map. More destinations served means more affordable and convenient travel options for consumers across the U.S., Caribbean and beyond.”
In addition to the Puerto Rico routes, Frontier Airlines will introduce nonstop service from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Miami International Airport on July 5. To commemorate this launch, the airline is offering flights starting at just $29 from the two cities, subject to the same promotional terms and blackout dates.
While Frontier Airlines is renowned for its ultra-low-cost model, the airline is also introducing new offerings to enhance the travel experience. These include the introduction of a new economic business class, BizFare, in February, and the introduction of an “UpFront Plus” option last month, allowing travelers to secure seats in the first two rows with a blocked middle seat for added comfort.
Furthermore, as part of its strategic realignment, the airline is recalibrating its route network by redirecting focus from oversaturated vacation markets like Florida and Las Vegas towards underserved markets, thereby offering travelers a broader spectrum of travel options.
