On the other hand, Nigeria was the leading African country in terms of trade, while it was ranked 36th internationally, followed by South Africa in second place (39th in the world).

The ranking, which is based on five main factors such as tourism, talent and investment attractiveness, includes 80 countries from different continents and shows countries and their rates for all periods in 2022 and 2023.

Morocco has faced a difficult tourism season in recent years due to COVID-19, which affected public health, and travel restrictions imposed by international governments.”The tourism sector has shown good resilience and has managed to return to its pre-COVID performance, thanks to a series of initiatives launched by the government to bring tourism activity back to its past performance,” said Fatim Zahra Ammor, Morocco’s Minister of Tourism, last month.

Bank Al-Maghrib, Morocco’s central bank, showed that last year’s post-pandemic recovery will total $1.647 billion by the end of 2021.Morocco welcomed 10.9 million tourists between January and November 2022, with 7.9 million overnight stays – 23 per cent more than in 2021 and even one per cent more than pre-pandemic levels.

In addition, Morocco’s tourism revenues have reached almost $8 billion in the first 11 months of 2022, and these figures represent about 112 per cent compared to 2019. The country has also managed to recover almost 84 per cent of the number of tourists compared to 2019.

Some of the best destinations in Morocco are Marrakech, Rabat, Fez, Tangier and Casablanca.
