by Alice

Vail Resorts is set to revolutionize ski and snowboard lessons with the launch of My Epic Pro for Ski and Ride School. This advanced digital tool will enhance learning by offering seamless connectivity and real-time updates. It will be available in the My Epic app for group lesson participants at Vail Mountain, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, and Keystone starting in the 2025/26 winter season.

My Epic Pro will streamline the ski school experience with digital check-ins, live lesson updates, skill-tracking tools, milestone badges, photo sharing, and a gamified progression system. These features aim to improve guest engagement and learning on the slopes.

Enhancing the Learning Experience

Bill Rock, Mountain Division President at Vail Resorts, emphasized the importance of ski school in fostering a lifelong love of the sport. “Our world-class instructors help guests build confidence and improve their skills. My Epic Pro serves as a technology companion to enhance that experience,” he said. “Now, in one app, you can access your Pass or lift ticket, plan and track your day, check lift wait times, book gear, get real-time answers, and take ski lessons to the next level.”

  • Digital Check-In: Guests can check in directly through the My Epic app, complete pre-lesson requirements, and find their instructor’s meeting point. This eliminates long lines and paperwork, allowing for a quicker start on the slopes.
  • Real-Time Updates: Participants and parents will receive live lesson updates and photos. Parents can track their child’s progress, see which runs they’ve completed, and view snapshots of their experience.
  • Gamified Skill Tracking: Guests can earn rewards and track their progress through achievement badges. Whether they are beginners or advanced skiers, this interactive system helps them monitor their improvement over multiple lessons and seasons.

Greg Willis, Senior Director of Ski and Ride School at Vail Mountain, highlighted the benefits for parents. “No more waiting in long lines to check in your kids. My Epic Pro gets them on the snow faster,” he said. “While you enjoy your own time on the mountain, you’ll receive updates and photos, allowing you to see their progress with our top-tier instructors.”

Future Expansion and Upgrades

Initially, My Epic Pro will be available for group lessons. However, Vail Resorts plans to expand its use to more locations and lesson types, including private sessions. Future updates may include the ability to book, modify, and cancel lessons directly through the app, as well as in-lesson video sharing.

This initiative is part of Vail Resorts’ ongoing digital transformation. Over the past decade, the company has invested nearly $2 billion in guest experience improvements. Other innovations include Mobile Pass, My Epic Gear, and My Epic Assistant, all integrated into the My Epic app.

For those looking to maximize their experience, Vail Resorts recommends purchasing an Epic Pass. The pass provides a 20% discount on group lessons and gear rentals, making ski school more accessible for all visitors.
