Thailand to Host 17th World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony in Ayutthaya

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), part of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, invites travelers to attend the 17th World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony on March 16-17, 2025, at the Ayutthaya Historical Park.

The event, with the theme “Once in a Lifetime: Experience the Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony in Thailand,” celebrates the rich traditions of Muay Thai and highlights the sport’s global appeal.

Taking place at Wat Mahathat and Wat Langkha Khao, the ceremony is an important part of the Thailand Summer Festivals 2025, which is featured in the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025” campaign. The event emphasizes Muay Thai’s cultural influence, attracting martial artists, fans, and tourists worldwide.

The event is organized in partnership with Ayutthaya province, the Association Institute of Thai Martial Arts, the World Muay Thai Federation, and the Muaythai and Muayboran Sports Association. The ceremony aims to promote cultural appreciation and global recognition of Muay Thai’s heritage.
