Icelandair has forged a new codeshare agreement with Italy’s ITA Airways, enhancing connectivity between the two airlines. This partnership, effective from January 20, 2025, allows travelers to book seamless connections on a single ticket across both carriers’ networks. Fares for the joint service are already available for booking.
Through this collaboration, passengers can easily travel from Iceland to Rome and then continue on to other iconic Italian cities like Bologna, Naples, Venice, and Florence. This eliminates the need for multiple bookings, providing a streamlined travel experience. The partnership is set to grow further, with plans to include additional routes, such as Icelandair’s summer services to Rome and Milan. Furthermore, the airline has increased its winter flight frequency to Rome, offering four weekly departures.
Bogi Nils Bogason, President and CEO of Icelandair, expressed his enthusiasm about the new agreement, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome ITA into our network of trusted airline partners. This codeshare agreement will offer our customers enhanced convenience with a broad selection of destinations, backed by ITA’s excellent reputation for customer service. We look forward to welcoming ITA’s passengers on board and expanding our reach throughout Italy and beyond.”
