A stark weather warning has been issued for Europe, with forecasters predicting a catastrophic storm, including heavy rains and flooding, over the next 10 days. Meteorologist Dominik Jung has described the upcoming weather as “apocalyptic,” with rainfall potentially doubling that caused by the recent DANA storm in Valencia, which tragically claimed 216 lives. Southeastern Europe, including parts of Greece, Italy, and the Balkans, could face unprecedented flooding, equivalent to more than a year’s worth of rain in just two weeks. With widespread travel disruptions, evacuations, and power outages expected, tourists heading to the Mediterranean are being urged to prepare for possible chaos. Severe weather has already caused destruction on the Greek islands of Rhodes and Lemnos, where rescue operations continue after two fatalities. Climate change is being linked to the increasing severity of these storms.
