Saudi Arabia has launched Sindalah, a premier luxury island destination, as part of the $500 billion NEOM mega-project, marking a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s drive to become a top-tier global tourism hub.
After two years of development involving four local contractors and 60 subcontractors, Sindalah is now hosting its first guests, according to a recent announcement by NEOM. This debut represents a pivotal step in Saudi Arabia’s high-end tourism aspirations, aligned with its Vision 2030 blueprint to diversify the economy.
Central to the National Tourism Strategy, these ambitious giga-projects aim to attract 150 million visitors by 2030, contributing to the Kingdom’s goal of increasing tourism’s share in the gross domestic product from 6% to 10%. Sindalah, situated just 5 km off NEOM’s northwest coast, spans 840,000 square meters and anticipates welcoming up to 2,400 guests daily by 2028. The project is projected to create 3,500 jobs, adding a major boost to Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing tourism and hospitality sectors.
Sindalah is a marine paradise, boasting 1,100 fish species, including 45 species exclusive to NEOM, and over 300 coral species, enriching the unique biodiversity of the region. The island’s attractions include a yacht club, a beach club, and a golf club, alongside docking facilities, additional offshore buoys for super yachts, and comprehensive yacht management services.
Sindalah offers an impressive selection of 440 rooms, 88 villas, and 218 luxury serviced apartments for accommodations. NEOM announced that booking details will soon be available through its tourism channels, opening the doors for international travelers to experience this new chapter of Saudi luxury.
