25 October 2024 DidaTravel, a leading tech-driven global travel distribution company, has reported significant trends indicating a robust recovery in China’s outbound travel market. The company’s latest findings reveal a substantial increase in hotel bookings for international trips.
Impressive Growth During Golden Week
During the Golden Week holiday, which runs from October 1 to 7, hotel bookings for trips abroad surged dramatically compared to the previous year. DidaTravel’s data shows an increase of 190% in the Americas, 78% in Europe, 77% in the Asia-Pacific region, and 106% in the Middle East. Despite this growth, the average length of stay for international travelers remained stable at approximately two nights, consistent with pre-pandemic trends. While Average Daily Rates (ADR) saw a slight rise in the Middle East, they were marginally lower in other regions compared to last year.
Top International Destinations for Chinese Travelers
As of October 8, the most sought-after international destinations for Chinese travelers included Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, and Indonesia, along with popular cities such as Singapore, the United States, Italy, and various others. The leading cities for international bookings were Bangkok, Tokyo, Singapore, and Osaka, among others. Domestic travel also saw significant interest, with Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing, and Macau topping the list.
DidaTravel’s Commitment to Outbound Tourism
DidaTravel President Stone Fan emphasized the shifting preferences of Chinese travelers, stating, “These evolving preferences signal a new era for the global travel industry. At DidaTravel, we are not only preparing for the resurgence of outbound tourism but are also actively shaping it.
