The Lal Kuan-Bandra superfast train was inaugurated by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in a virtual ceremony on Monday. This new rail service is set to improve connectivity between the scenic town of Lalkuan in Nainital and the bustling city of Bandra in Mumbai, offering passengers a faster and more efficient travel option. The train route covers several key cities and religious destinations, catering to both tourists and devotees.
The launch of the superfast train is expected to significantly boost tourism and religious travel in the region, making it easier for visitors to explore important pilgrimage sites while also enjoying the natural beauty of Uttarakhand. This development marks an important step in improving transportation infrastructure, allowing passengers to travel more comfortably and quickly between the two cities.
The new train service is also expected to greatly benefit locals, providing them with a convenient and speedy connection to Mumbai, one of India’s largest metropolitan areas. Furthermore, it supports the state government’s efforts to promote tourism and economic development, as better connectivity will likely attract more visitors to Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Dhami expressed his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing how this new initiative aligns with his administration’s broader goals of modernizing transportation and enhancing the state’s appeal as a prime travel destination. This development represents a crucial milestone in fostering regional growth and strengthening ties between Uttarakhand and Maharashtra.
With three trains operating weekly, connecting Ramnagar, Haldwani, and Lalkuan to Mumbai, this development will boost tourism in the Kumaon region. The increased frequency is expected to attract more visitors, making travel between Kumaon and Mumbai more convenient for both tourists and locals.
The Lal Kuan-Bandra superfast service, train number 22544, departs from Lalkuan at 7:45 AM and arrives at Bandra Terminus the next morning at 8:30 AM. On its return, the train leaves Bandra at 11:00 AM and reaches Lalkuan by 1:15 PM the following day. This convenient schedule offers a smooth travel experience for passengers journeying between Uttarakhand and Mumbai.
The train is equipped with modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) technology, providing advanced safety features and enhanced passenger comfort. With both AC and sleeper coaches, travelers can choose the level of comfort that suits their needs while enjoying a reliable and secure journey.
